Castles

The Dordogne is like a fairyland with its 1001 castles. In summer, most of them can be visited. Le chateau de Puyguilhem (Villars) and chauteau de Bourdeilles are close to the campsite.

The caves of Villars

Beautiful limestone cave with underground river and light show deep underground. Original rock drawings can still be seen in this cave.

Villages

There are many villages and towns with medieval centres close to the campsite. Brantome is known as the Venice of France, Saint-Jean-de-Côle is one of the 100 most beautiful villages in France and in Perigueux or Angoulême you can spend a whole day shopping and strolling in a mix of old and new.

Markets and festivals

There are markets all over the area throughout the week, so you’re never far away from a good shopping experience!You’ll find local produce and delicacies, fruit and vegetable markets, flea markets, brocante markets, and flower markets. During the summer months, you’ll find lots of fantastic festivals with music and street theatre in Perigueux and Angoulême.
